Graffiti + Sewing // Sewn

A friend enlisted my help in a super secret father's day project last month. She wanted to make an iphone pillow for her husband (so it wouldn't wake her up at night). She wanted to incorporate his nickname into the project, and that is where I came in. As far as I know, he is very much a retired graffiti artist, although he has some pretty wild stories.  Using the window as a light box, I traced the tag onto the fabric, did a few trial stitching runs, and here is the final product. We thought it looked pretty good, and I'm guessing there aren't a lot of people out there who have mimicked graffiti with their sewing machines, although a quick google search shows that there are a few, ahem, interesting ideas mixing graffiti and crafts, including "yarn-bombing" and "guerilla knitters."
