Pacman Quilt // Finished Modern Quilt

Newport 3661.jpg

My husband calls this my Pacman quilt. Before my daughter was born, I fell in love with this fabric. Its Red Letter Day, by Lizzy House. I bought enough to make her bedding and planned to make the extra into a quilt. I spent a LONG time sketching it out, playing with different designs.

I wanted something simple and graphic to show off the prints. I brought the finished top to the first meeting of the DC Modern Quilt Guild in January (?) and asked for quilting advice. Fast forward a few months. I love how the straight line quilting ended up.

I hand sewed the binding  to the back on the way to and from my triathlon in June. On a whim, I grabbed it Saturday before we headed out to Great Falls, VA as a family, and finished it as we pulled into the parking lot. Luckily my sister was there to hold it up for a picture, I don't think I could have convinced my husband to do it.
