The Quilt Cake // Favorite Things

DC Modern Quilt Guild Cake1.jpg

Last evening, the DC Modern Quilt Guild hosted a Fabric Party at DelRayFabrics.  (Great selection, great prices, and I think I am going to have to go back to buy the purple echino cameras I was coveting. I need to learn how to make myself a bag, first). I was pretty amazed that we could fit 35-plus people into the space, and even more amazed that anyone could hear well enough to have an actual conversation. We were a lively and happy bunch, and loved having so many new people join us. My friend D made the most awesome quilt cake you have ever seen, complete with mitered corners, a modern pattern, and accompanying spool and thread. It was even more delicious than it looked, and that is saying something. (D also made my sister's wedding cake last year.) She was the hit of the party, and not even able to make it. Enjoy the pictures!

If you haven't heard, I'm having a giveaway that closes the 26th--to celebrate a year of blogging here, 100+ posts, and my baby girl's first birthday!
