One Year GIVEAWAY!

Giveaway Fat 8ths1.jpg

And now for a GIVEAWAY!

I have had some pretty intense luck lately, sewing wise. My husband helped a friend clean out her apartment in preparation for her retirement and subsequent moving away.  She had a pile of things that were being donated to Goodwill, and told him that if there was anything we might want, it was ours. Well, he called me while I was at a sewing day with the DCModern Quilt Guild to tell me he had brought home a new to me Bernina, about 15 years old. I was pretty thrilled.

A few weeks later, I was sitting in church and a friend walked in with her new baby. I kind of gasped when I saw her new baby's blanket--made entirely of pink, green, yellow, and blue Flea Market Fancy prints.*  The prints are, ahem, a bit hard to find. I told her later that day, "uh, if anyone looks at your blanket with covetous eyes, this is why" and told her how much I loved the quilt. Her mom, a quilter, had won a set of FMF from her local quilt shop. She made a disappearing nine patch, and thought the fabric was so ugly she planned to donate the quilt to Goodwill. Eek! Luckily, my friend Jill was there to take it off her hands. Jill was kind enough to send me her mom's scraps, which included about a half yard of blue seeds (I know!) and various quilt blocks primarily in golds, browns, grays, and reds. I have been happily swapping some of them to get an almost complete (albeit tiny) set of the FMF prints.  I bought five or so yards of FMF a few years ago on sale, and even remember going into a LQS, seeing the fabric, knowing everyone was crazy about it, and passing. So, I didn't feel like I could justify going crazy looking for it now. Long explanation for basically this--I now have at least a small swatch of every print, so I can make a great little quilt and be perfectly happy. But I'd always be up for some more. :)
