I’m feeling gray tonight, so I thought I’d share some pictures of the 7 mini-quilts/mug rugs I have made in the last little while. I have started so many projects lately, I’m happy to just have a few actually get finished! I’m done with this size for a time, that is for sure. The above “Love” mug rugs were made at the request of my grandmother. (One is missing from the pictures, I finished sewing on the binding on the way to the post office.)
The one on the left is for the Everyday Mug Rug swap on flickr, front and back. Swaps have been good for me–turns out, I do much better work when I don’t over-think things. This was definitely over-thought. I wanted to do something “interesting.” My partner only said she liked bright colors and wanted a rectangular one… but if I had time to re-do it, I would have stuck with the city grid/mod mosaic block. Simple. Easy. Fun. Not over-thought.
If I had gotten my act together, I would have posted this on Friday for Amy’s Sew & Tell feature, back for a limited time, perhaps.
