A Collection of Mini Quilts // Finished Modern Quilts

2011-02-241.jpg

I'm feeling gray tonight, so I thought I'd share some pictures of the 7 mini-quilts/mug rugs I have made in the last little while. I have started so many projects lately, I'm happy to just have a few actually get finished! I'm done with this size for a time, that is for sure. The above "Love" mug rugs were made at the request of my grandmother. (One is missing from the pictures, I finished sewing on the binding on the way to the post office.)

For my son's teacher's birthday last week. She loves coffee, or so he tells me. :) Hopefully she liked this.

The one on the left is for the Everyday Mug Rug swap on flickr, front and back. Swaps have been good for me--turns out, I do much better work when I don't over-think things. This was definitely over-thought. I wanted to do something "interesting." My partner only said she liked bright colors and wanted a rectangular one... but if I had time to re-do it, I would have stuck with the city grid/mod mosaic block. Simple. Easy. Fun. Not over-thought.If I had gotten my act together, I would have posted this on Friday for Amy's Sew & Tell feature, back for a limited time, perhaps. :)
