My friend T and I took our kids on a bike ride this morning–best decision I will make all day, I am sure. The kids and I were outside for almost three hours. We got to stop at the park, the library, and a friend’s house, and took a few minutes to smell blossoming trees and honk back at the geese. I love when I can combine exercise with a happy adventure for the kids. Better yet, I’m finally back on track for 16 Weeks=Triathlete. (Want to join us? We are only in week three). Throw in some beautiful blossoms and springlike weather, and I’d say it was just about perfect (except for the tussling in the back of the trailer as Little Tiny tried to push her brother out, but that is besides the point).
And finally, I am ALMOST done with my blocks for the Freedom Block Swap. It has been interesting, and I’ve learned a lot about how I sew, what I do well, what I need to work on, etc. It has been a learning experience. I have certainly gotten back some great blocks, but I have found it more difficult than I expected to sew open-ended blocks for other people, based on the prints and size of the pieces they have sent me. I was amazed by how different each of these blocks looked–hopefully the recipients like them.
