I'm sure I'm not the only one is who is tempted to buy charm packs of my favorite lines.  And then sometimes, they sit languishing in a bin, because I don't have a specific project for them or I haven't found any inspiration yet. Well, look no further!  I went through flickr and found some really fun charm pack friendly ideas, from the simple to the intricate.  Charm packs work really well for charity quilts, which I think should be tasteful, fun, and well made. I don't think you have to spend hours upon hours on them, but you can. I don't think you have to use your favorite fabrics, but you can.  I try to work with what I have when I make charity quilts, and make sure I would be happy to give it to a neighbor or co-worker.  I don't like spending a lot of time planning the quilts, I would rather just sit down and start sewing!

The MQG Robert Kaufman Solids Challenge Quilts  pool also has a lot of great quilts in it that are charm pack friendly. I might be a bit biased, but I think these two challenge projects made by my sisters Sam and Amber are particularly fabulous! (pictures are from Brooke/Pitter Putter Stitch's flickr photostream, click on them for more info)

Note: Hurricane Irene at the Swim Bike Quilt house--we are good. Our power hasn't even gone out. If you know my neighborhood, you know how shocking that is! I know that isn't the same scenario for everyone--according to CBS, almost 3 million people are currently without power, among other things. Stay safe, folks!
