If you are like me, sometimes I need more than a pattern or a tutorial on a blog to understand a sewing concept. Usually, I bring my project to my friend Pam and say “help,” or ask a family member or friend what I’m missing. Sometimes, you just need to see something “in person.” My friend Alexia Abegg, founder of Stitch Sewing School & Studio in Nashville also has a pattern company called Green Bee Pattern Co. (In fact, you can win three of her patterns as part of the 100 Quilts for Kids link up tomorrow). She is in process of creating an instructional sewing DVD, which is almost as good as asking mom for help.
Green Bee Pattern Co. is on Kickstarter right now–she has about 2.5 days left to raise the rest of the 3000 or so dollars she needs to get her patterns to market–International Quilt Market, that is.
Read more about it HERE, and consider donating. If you donate just $15, you will receive a copy of her upcoming sewing DVD and a pattern in the spring–sounds more like a pre-order than a donation! Alexia gave me a copy of the Vera Bag in May–if I can get my act together, I’m making it to take with me to the Sewing Summit. More likely, it will be a Christmas present to myself. So, click through her links, consider donating a bit of money, and have a nice day!
