My Grandma’s Antique Room // Favorite Things

Perhaps my favorite room in the whole world is this one–it is the “antique” room at my grandparents’ home. I love the stories behind the furniture, the 1901 mission call of my great great grandfather, the portrait of the baby he never met, the children’s furniture and eau de toilette (what young child wouldn’t think that was hilarious), etc. And most recently, the quilts! This one (hand pieced, hand quilted, of course) was done by my great-great grandmother, Diantha Anderson. Isn’t it beautiful?
Currently, I’m trying to channel Grandma Diantha’s small, even stitches as I finish the binding for Laura Gunn’s quilt for Quilt Market… wish me luck!

Family quilts are just the best! I have so many that my mom and grandma made!
