I’m off to the airport in a few hours for Houston, where I get to hang out with my sister E and her husband (the only ones not in Salt Lake a few weeks ago. I have a big family. So does my husband . Of course, I still have to wait for the clothes to get out of the dryer before I can finish packing. Nothing like leaving everything until the last minute!
Yesterday was a happy, joyful, amazing blur. My daughter turned 2 and we spent time at the local farm, feeding the pigs and running in the leaves. We also found out that my brother and his wife adopted a beautiful, perfect baby girl yesterday. We are so, so, so happy to have her join our family, and I wish I could send all my love and more to the brave and beautiful young woman who placed her precious baby for adoption. I want to make new baby A a quilt just like this one, made by Jessica (with a variety of other great iterations around the internet). Jessica, incidentally, won the 100 Quilts for Kids “Reader’s Choice” poll, and after Quilt Market, she will be getting a gift certificate to Marmalade Fabrics and an Empty Bobbin Sewing Studios Pattern. Speaking of Quilt Market (I’m jumping around all over the place, today!)… is there anything you want to see pictures of? Any questions you want me to ask anyone? Leave me a comment if there is. I can’t promise anything (my brain feels a bit like a sieve these days), but I’ll try. I will be tweeting (with pictures!) while I’m at Market, if you want to follow along, even if just for this weekend. I’m @SwimBikeQuilt. Wish me luck!
