Improv Squares in the Fog // Finished Modern Quilt

Improv SquaresJust popping in to say hi and to share the quilt I finished last night (that will be donated to the school’s raffle, which is the project I really should be working on right now.)  Perhaps I am finally a modern (ish) quilter. I’ve made an improv square in squares quilt, and with Denyse Schmidt fabric, no less! It’s been an interesting week–I ran to school this morning, with my son in the jogging stroller of all things (long story). The thick fog this morning was pretty incredible!

Improv Squares Back
I backed the quilt with my favorite of the DS Prints from this line (sold at Joanns). It isn’t my usual style, but I really liked it.

Cool quilt! I´m a bit jealous for all the cherry blossoms. They won´t start here (central Europe) before April.

the quilt is GORGEOUS–those colors are so perfect together!! Love the Japanese blossoms—I have one of those trees too. Did you prune it in the first year?

That daisy design is really cool! You have used the fabrics really well! Don’t mention fog though – because of fog my flight out of Wellington (NZ) was cancelled meaning I was stuck in the city for an extra day and couldn’t get back home or back to work! Luckily my boss was stuck with me so we kept ourselves amused with some sightseeing!

Love it!! Great fabric choices! I guess I need to do a wonky quilt so I can officially be modern too. : )

Oh, I LOVE this quilt! Love it, love it, love it. Everything about it! Why did you get so talented without me?? One day I’m going to steal you for a month (or year or ten) until I can do this sort of thing too. Wouldn’t that be kind of fun…? 😉
