Lazy Days Skirt // Sewn

On the docket this morning: make a skirt! And it took about the same amount of time as a more intricate quilt block. That makes me happy on a Friday morning. Little Miss decided nap time doesn’t apply to her today–that makes me a little less happy. C’est la vie.
I used the Oliver + S free Lazy Days Skirt pattern, and with two little ones playing with noisy toys, didn’t quite get the ribbon detail right, and decided to try my own way. Lucky me, the skirt is a few inches long, so as soon as she takes it off, I’m going to cut off a few inches and do the ribbon detail the Oliver + S way.
We went on a walk around the neighborhood this morning and I snapped a few photos, of her in her “dancing skirt,” of the flowers, and the skirt. It feels more like summer than spring around these parts lately.  March Madness is in full swing around here (love Baylor’s flourescent uniforms, by the way–my sister and her husband go to Baylor!) so I’m sewing with friends tonight. Happy weekend, everyone.

These pictures of N kind of make me wish I had a girl in a twirling skirt! You sure know how to live up spring; thanks for inspiring me :)

Wow! Look at all of those flowers!! We are still bare and brown here. No green, no flowers, nothing. I’m eager for Spring! Cute skirt! With 2 boys, I never had the chance to make any for my kids. It’s fun to live vicariously through blog-land!
