Note: if you missed my tutorial for the Festival of HSTs, it’s here!
Each time I make a new quilt, I ask my husband what he thinks. I usually hear something like, “I really like it. But I would like it better if it was red and black and said “Utes” on it. Yeah. He is talking about the quilt I started for him almost 2 years ago. 2 years. When I saw my friend Tracey’s new “Just 3″ link up, I thought, “Aha! Finishing Jayme’s quilt can be at the top of that.” So, there you go. It needs a few borders or another row or two of blocks. That’s what I get for making a quilt for someone who is 6’5”.

Goal 3: Finish the quilt top of my flea market fancy top. This one is for me. And it’s all cut out using the original fmf, so i figured now that I can bind it in gray seeds, I might as well get a move on.
Next! The DC Modern Quilt Guild has a blog. Our old system-ish of communication just wasn’t working. It isn’t fancy (yet), there are only 2 posts and a schedule. But! If you are local, please consider subscribing via email or Google Reader, etc. And even if you aren’t, you might want to click over just to see the awesome header Heather put together. It will make you smile.
Finally, my friend Kelly is starting a “My Precious” quilt along. The name alone sucked me in
Sew something, anything, with the fabric in your stash that is “precious.” It doesn’t have to be something that is incredibly hard to find, but it does have to be something you love and are reluctant to cut into. New fabric doesn’t count
I’m donating some fabric from Heather Ross’ Lightning Bugs line… now I just have to decide what! Happy sewing.

ha! I’m right there with you! I have a quilt top that was requested by my hubby that is half way done! Every time I show him a new project he asks, “where’s my quilt?” *sigh* One of these days I’ll have to finish it!
Ask Katie what she did with the fabric for my quilt.
