Peacock Blue quilting

This is the 2nd simple quilt I have made out of these fabrics--I am a sucker for blues and greens.  It is a coin quilt, and I just used up scraps, as is, from one of my favorite quilts.   In some quilts, all of the individual coins are the same size. I tend to like my coin quilts to be a little less predictable. I love the quilting on this one, even though it is hard to see. I wanted to use up some spools that just had a bit of thread on them, so I did random wavy lines in the coins using a variety of coordinating colors.  I also quilted a 1/4 inside the columns, for good measure. I'm hoping to bind this one this weekend.

It's been crazy around here, but I am happy to announce I have retired from the PTA and hope to get my 2-20 hours back every week, depending on the week. It shall be spent sleeping. Or sewing. Or cleaning my neglected house. But today, I'm voting for sleeping!  Teacher Appreciation Week lunch was yesterday, and I'm happy to announce that it was beautiful and tasty and much appreciated. 'm just thrilled it went well. And happier it is over. Phew. (The subway art is a free printable here)I have learned a lot about leadership from PTA, what to do and what not to do. Most of all, over the last 8 months, I have learned that  I need to trust my intuition and judgement and ignore the doubters (thanks, Jayme, for continually pointing this out). A good lesson for us all, I think.
