100 Quilts for Kids Link-Up is Open

*This is my Peacock Blue x2 quilt–it was made entirely of scraps from one of my favorite quilts*

The link up for 100 Quilts for Kids is open… and I’m keeping it open all summer long! I hope that if you make a quilt and donate it to a child in need that you will link up a picture from your blog, flickr account, or other source.  The quilt can be made either explicitly as part of this effort, or as part of any of the other great charity drives out there–Margaret’s Hope Chest, Phoenix [Wildfire] Quilts, Bumble Beans Basics, do. Good Stitches,  Siblings Together, and more!

I have the fabrics and the desire to do some children’s charity quilts…I really feel like God is pulling me in that direction. Now I’m just praying for time! Thanks for reminding us that we need to think outside ourselves.

Just read about this project and though I don’t have pictures to send, you can add 3 more quilts to the total. I heard of a family with 3 kids – one 3 year old with leukemia is currently going through a bone marrow transplant, her 7 year old brother was the bone marrow donor, and the 5 year old sister is dealing with all of the upheaval etc. So,after wondering what I could do to help, I made each of them a flannel raggedy quilt.

Finishing the blankets now, but I also posted it as it is all for charity and that is what matters :) A few days to go, planning on finishing one more! Almost there :)

    Hi Katie,
I’m having trouble linking up my aqua chevron quilt that I just posted a pic to Flickr on. It doesn’t matter…just wanted you to know I finished 1 of the 6 charity quilts for kids that are in progress and inspired by this effort! I’ll get the others done soon…perhaps choosing micro-stippling on the first one wasn’t the best time management idea! Ah well – I love how it turned out and I know a foster kid who receives it through My Very Own Blanket will be thrilled, too! Thanks again for organizing this great effort!
