This is the 4th Installment in the 100 Quilts for Kids Quilt Along! Previous posts are here:
My Quilt Along quilt is coming right along . . . I have basted it and even started on the quilting. I didn’t get a picture of the quilt top before I started basting it (afternoon rain in Virginia is more common than I remembered!) This morning, I ran outside in jeans and a long sleeve shirt in 90 degrees to snap a very quick picture in my semi-shady, mosquito infested backyard. I also ran out of basting pins, so used spray baste for the last part. That’s how we roll in the summertime, I guess. But it gives you an idea of what the quilt will look like.

If you are making the larger sized quilt, assemble the pieces according to this diagram:
Sew the 20.5” x 39.5” piece on top of your string blocks.
Next, sew the 21” x 39.5” piece on the bottom of your string blocks.
Press seams well.
Pin and sew the 21” x 80” piece on the left side of the quilt. Press seams, and sew the 6.5” x 80” piece on the right side of the quilt. Press well. Trim if necessary. Voila! A simple quilt top, finished.

Katie, your quilt is so pretty! I love this design, and hope to have a chance to try it out soon! Thanks for the shout out for Quilting For Good Tuesdays, too – it’s always so much fun to see what others are making for charity out there!!
