I had a lot of fun getting together with the members of the DC Modern Quilt Guild on Saturday, and I started this little quilt. I raided my neutral scraps and paired them with random square cuts of Field Study by Anna Maria Horner. I used the stitch and flip method I used for this quilt (and made popular by Quilting Modern), and I’m really loving the result so far.
Did you see our DC Modern announcement? The Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild invited us to a trunk show and lecture with Jay McCarroll in November. Woo hoo!

Gah, I wish I still lived in the Bmore/DC area. You guys have awesome guilds! Love this idea BTW, great way to use up wonky scraps. I’m doing the spinning stars QAL and will have lots of those.
Hurray for the invitation! I really like your Field Study quilt. Such great fabric. And I’ve got to get my hands on that book. I want to do the stitch and flip so bad!
So agree! Love how those blocks are turning out!

I really dig these blocks, Katie! And yay for good guild news, too! That sounds like it’s going to be a great event!
