Blogger's Quilt Festival // Helix Quilt
Welcome to the Blogger's Quilt Festival: the Helix Quilt edition. A big thank you to Amy from Amy's Creative Side for hosting this fun event twice a year.
I love this twin quilt, which I made in exchange for a family photography session from my friend Danelle. I was lucky that Danelle arranged for me to quilt this bad boy on her friend's long arm, even then, the process reinforced my love of making baby quilts.
I have written more about this quilt here and here and even here, way back in May!
This project was definitely my travelling quilt, and the one I worked on whenever I had a spare minute. I sewed and sewed in my little sewing corner, at DC Modern Quilt Guild Meeting(s), at Go Go Kim's house, the long arm owner's house--this one has been around the block!
I quilted pebbles in the white diamonds, a large paisley pattern in the pink and aqua helix, and a loop-de-loop in the surrounding white negative space.
I machine bound the quilt in a lovely pink print that I could have sworn was Tula Pink but was actually this Lila Tueller Santorini print. Hurray for finished quilts and happy friends!
