I have only had snatches of time here and there to sew over the last few weeks, and have enjoyed sewing some small projects just for fun. A zippy pouch that was sent across the pond, another one for our favorite babysitter filled with important treats such as lollipops and pez dispensers, and this improv blankie that was delivered last night. Sometimes, minutes are all that I have for myself between work and life and living (and freezing, as much of the United States and elsewhere have been doing lately). I miss the large chunks of time to myself, but I’m trying to savor all of the little minutes right now–cooking dinner and puzzles with the little one, listening to my son read his first chapter book. Life can be very sweet when you slow down, even just a bit.

Believe me, the time with your children is the most important. It flies by, and you can’t get it back. If anyone had told me that one day my daughter would be 35, I’d have said, “No way!!”
Such a darling blanket! Savoring minutes sounds perfect too
First Chapter book is exciting and it never gets old. We have one more grandchild yet to reach that summit, but it will be as exciting as when her dad did it. Enjoy.
Well put, Katie. Enjoy your free time
The blanket is beautiful!
deep breaths , you are doing a great job
love the color combos here!
I miss big chunks of time too… I dream of them. But also try to savor the littles in the little things.
