Gardening Apron // Sewn
Today is my stop on the month-long His & Hers Sew-Along with MicroMod. Talented duo Alexia Abegg and Rob Bancroft are 2/3s of Green Bee Patterns, and I have enjoyed watching Green Bee grow! They do it all -- fabric design, pattern design, and Alexia even has a new book out called Liberty Love: 25 Projects to Quilt & Sew Featuring Liberty of London Fabrics.Alexia & Rob have been answering questions on each stop on the Sew-Along, and today's question answers the perennial favorite: what is your favorite thing to barbecue?
I love microMod's graphic prints, and wanted to make new aprons for my husband and I. A few years ago, my sister in law Sam made me a great utilitarian apron with several large pockets--I use it all the time when I'm gardening or cleaning my house, and I had fun making this one in a similar style. For my apron, I paired Seaweed in teal with linen and made some bias tape out of Vertigo in teal. I have to admit, I had a really hard time picking prints--the colors and pattern in this line are a lot of fun. microMod is part of Cloud 9's price sensitive organic collection, which is a bonus in my book. It is hard to see in the pictures, but the apron has multiple pockets, and I'm sure they will be filled with odds and ends soon. YGiveaway time! I have a fat quarter bundle of microMod as well as the Sally pattern to giveaway. Leave a comment on this post to enter the giveaway--I'll pick a winner on Monday, April 22.If you are inclined to share, I'd love to hear your favorite gardening tip. I have spent the week weeding and am trying to decide what to plant in my 3' x 3' vegetable garden (located in the front yard). Good times!
Here are the other stops on the His & Hers microMod Sew Along. Don't forget to stop by Green Bee on May 1--there are some great final prizes, including fabric and a new sewing machine!
