Improv Quilt Block // Sewing + Friends

My friend Cheryl is hosting a Just One Slab quilt block drive. The blocks will eventually be made into quilts for individuals and families in Southern Alberta–the impetus, of course, is the devastating flooding of last month.  This quilt block (15.5 inches square) took almost no time; I can’t wait to see the finished quilts. The deadline is July 30, so you have plenty of time to make just one slab!

In other fun news, Faith was on the American Patchwork & Quilting Radio hosted by Pat Sloan today. She talked about Vintage Quilt Revival: 22 Modern Designs from Classic Blocks and her Community Giving Page, among other things. Also on the show today–Alison Glass & Amy Gibson. You can listen here!

These blocks are addictive! Betcha can’t make just one!! (yeah, I made 6). I challenged the girls in my guild to make some and within just a week we collectively made 37, no, 39 blocks.
