A Scrappy Modern Quilt // Works in Progress

N and I finished the top last night! Now we "just" have to baste, quilt, and bind. #quiltformygirl

A week or so ago, my 3.5 year old said, “Mama. What happened to the quilt you were making for my bed? I think we should sew it now.” We happened to have the whole Saturday morning free, so she sorted the scraps, sat on my lap, and helped me sew. I’m pleased to announce that we finished her quilt top that morning!

The quilt is inspired by a favorite quilt from the cover of Sunday Morning Quilts (by Cheryl Arkison and Amanda Jean Nyberg), which is available here:

Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects Sort, Store, and Use Every Last Bit of Your Treasured Fabrics

I hope to have a finished quilt ready to show you by the end of the summer!

Thank you! It’s been fun to sew with her on my lap. Most of the time.

I love the colors used – I see some great fabrics lines in there :-) Nice job. I am sure it is something she will treasure forever.
