Little Girl Dresses // Sewn

This girl. She makes me smile even when a bit of post vacation/end of summer melancholy has settled in. She is also excellent at (self) posing for pictures.Last week, my mom and I had fun making our own pattern for a few cute knit dresses.  Sometimes the best thing to do is just that--do it! You can learn so much from actually trying something (especially if you have an experienced seamstress nearby).  This is knit she bought in the 90s,  and the dresses turned out pretty cute.We traced a Tea Collection dress, and had "fun" adding and taking away from the "pattern." This version uses the sleeves from the Go To Signature Dress by Andrea Pannell from The Train to Crazy.So yeah. I made her dress. A knit dress. I'm pretty proud of myself, actually, and I have big plans to make about a million more.
