100 Quilts for Kids Wonky StarsI love how this wonky star quilt turned out! Many hands worked on this quilt, and a special thanks to Wendy for finishing up the blocks and helping me baste it at our last guild meeting.  Thanks, Dear Stella, for donating the fabric!  Dear Stella sent our guild 4 fat quarter bundles to make charity quilts (and one to give away!). Heather, Jessie, and Anna headed up the other 3 quilts.

100 Quilts Star Detail

With the help of the guild, and a marathon sewing day (or 2) herself, Heather made not one but two quilts out of her donated fabric--click over to see them--they are really striking. The quilts were donated to the DC Child and Family Services Agency as part of 100 Quilts for Kids.100 Quilts 4 Kids Quilt BackI have been experimenting with pieced quilt backs lately, and working on a Pinterest inspiration board called "The Other Side of the Quilt."  I've been working on a Blog Post and Linky Party that will go live on Friday--I hope you will join me and link up some of your favorite quilt (backs), from the simple to the ornate.  Clearly I need a little help, since the back of this quilt is just a wee bit wonky. Darn. Next time!Scrappy Binding 100 Quilts 4 KidsP.S. I love a pieced binding, especially when I only have a fat quarter of navy fabric to bind a 45'' x 60'' quilt! I used up every piece of the navy solid and print to finish this, with little to spare.More about this quilt here.
