Mt. Vernon in the Snow

Mt. Vernon in the snow is beautiful. Mt. Vernon is beautiful any time, really, but the snow added something fun. We took a handful of Cub Scouts here on Saturday, and I’m pleased to say everyone enjoyed themselves, and we weren’t asked to leave. I call that a successful Cub Scout adventure, or really, any adventure with kids.

Happy President’s Day to everyone in the U.S.

You are a brave soul to take Cubs on an adventure. I took some to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum and I kept counting heads every 5 minutes. It got difficult at the museum because there were so many groups of Cubs I kept counting other kids heads instead of the ones I brought. Mt. Vernon is a great trip for them though.

We had almost as many leaders as scouts, so it was a good time. At least on the house tour there aren’t very many places for them to go and hide! Ah, good times.

That’s so funny! I preferred Brownies to Cub Scouts. They weren’t as crazy. And they have cookies!

Seriously! The cookies alone are enough to be a jealous scout leader.
