Stitched DC Quilt Gallery Exhibit // Favorite Things

Stitched DC

I have been a part of the DC Modern Quilt Guild since the very beginning, and served unofficially as the President for 2 years or so. I am so happy with where the guild is today, and I’m so proud of the group, individually and collectively.

Stitched DC and Anna's Quilt

Anna’s Quilt

I mentioned last week that we are participating in our first guild show, an installation at the Anacostia Arts Center called Stitched DC (admission is free). Here are a few fun pictures of the show’s opening last Saturday. It was so nice to see the beautiful quilts, so many people in attendance, and to meet many of the guild members’ friends and family members.

I took these pictures before anyone got there, but I am happy to say the place was packed!

Finally, as a reminder, there is a speaker event and pop up shop at the Arts Center on March 8. Tickets and more information available here.

There were so many other great quilts. The guild’s flickr group has more pictures if you are interested.

I am trying to talk my hubby into taking a trip to see this one for our anniversary weekend — it’s also the same weekend as the speakers so that would be awesome

Looks like it would be a great show. We are not that far away in NC…let me see what the hubby says (even though he will be up there late March).

If you happen to make it up here, you should definitely see the “Workt By Hand” vintage quilt exhibit at the National Museum for Women in the Arts…
