Pixelated Heart Quilt // Finished Modern Quilts

I finished this cute pixelated heart quilt a few months ago, and just delivered it to my niece (and her mama) recently. When she was born, we all felt such a surge of love for her, and I wanted to make a quilt that reflected this.

Pixelated Heart Quilt Details

I included this closeup because I love, love, love the tiny heart fabric I used for the background. It is called, appropriately, “Dear Stella Tiny Hearts,” and is available in a wide variety of colors.

I had the hardest time choosing a backing for this quilt, until I remembered I had a great black and white text print (made by Windham) that fit perfectly!

I have had a lot of inquiries about what pattern I used–I cut 5” squares and then just laid them out until I was happy. If you are looking for a pattern, there is a free one here that uses 3″ squares. Happy sewing!
