Summer Sampler 2016 // Week 15 [Sunbeam]

Summer Sampler 2016 Sunbeam Block

Follow on Bloglovin

This week’s block is called Sunbeam, and it is block #15 in the Summer Sampler 2016  quilt along! We are definitely in the home stretch. Sunbeam was designed by Lee Heinrich of Freshly Pieced, and her block is just stunning! I used a different color palette on this block, and I’m still a little iffy on it. I think it will work in the larger context, though. I hope.

Back to school

Speaking of sunbeams, my own little ray of sunshine is coping now that her brother and sister are back in school full time. We have had some tearful goodbyes, lots of playdates, and lots of time to read stories on the couch.

Having just a toddler at home all day is so much better/easier than it was the first time around. Hallelujah, right? I love my little buddy.

And in full disclosure, she and her bff (whose siblings are also in school full time now) will get to play with a babysitter a few hours a week this year. Win, win, win.

Back to quilting. Have you seen the great blocks on the instagram hashtag #summersampler2016? Make sure to check them out!
