Summer Sampler 2016 // Week 20 [Tiled Stars]
I can't believe we made it! This is block #20 of the Summer Sampler 2016, and this is an "enjoy the journey" type of block. Designed by Lynne Goldsworthy of Lily's Quilts, this is the perfect block to use your last scraps of your favorite fabrics.
Along the way, I realized that I never shared this block, Triangles [#17] on my blog. This block, designed by Karen Lewis of Karen Lewis Textiles (have you seen her new line, Blueberry Park 2?) is paper-pieced, and so much fun to make. I really want to make an entire quilt using this block, it is one of my favorites!
Finally, here are all of my blocks together.Next week, Faith, Lee and I are going to be releasing three different quilt layouts (and patterns). My pattern calls for 21 blocks, so I made another Diamond Ladder block (bottom left). I think the block looks different enough turned on its side to be a nice addition. I also remade the X Spot block (bottom right)--the old one had too much navy and not enough white and it really stood out. I re-did the corners on the Around the Corner block (the one with the arrows). When you get all of your blocks together and something just isn't quite right, don't be afraid to do a little surgery, or even remake it if necessary! All it takes is a little extra time (and fabric). All of the Summer Sampler 2016 details are below–you can join in at any time!
