Make the Same Pattern Twice? // Works in Progress

Have you ever made the same quilt pattern twice? Or more than 2 times? There is something fun about remaking a familiar quilt–you already have an idea of how the pattern goes, and you can use your mental energy to play with color, or quilting, or fabric.

I love how playful the strips are here! Now I just need to baste and quilt and bind it. *just* 😉 This quilt actually measures 65” x 65”! Hard to tell without something to show the scale. Most of the prints are various Cotton and Steel prints–isn’t that Gingham just fun?

Happy sewing!

If I buy a pattern and if it goes together correctly (meaning there’s not an error in the pattern – it’s happened to me twice and both times the author acknowledged the mistake but only once did I have enough fabric to recut and fix the problem), then I make the quilt at least twice and sometimes three times. The majority of my quilts are donated to the crisis pregnancy center and the women’s shelter so there’s no chance of me gifting the same pattern to the same person. I work full-time so there is that confidence level when I’m making the pattern the second time. I might tackle a section that I ordinarily wouldn’t tackle after a full work day. Do I have a pile of patterns yet to make? Yes! But there’s plenty of time!
