Turning Stars // Block #7 // Summer Sampler 2017

Summer-Sampler-7-Turning-Star-Quilt-Block.jpg

I think I say this every week, but I have a new favorite Summer Star--this is Turning Star by Lynne Goldsworthy of Lily's Quilts (also of The Thread House).

This is also the star that made me rethink my entire color scheme for my quilt, and I decided I'm going rainbow/Anna Maria Horner ombre in this quilt. My *new* plan is to have the 6'' blocks be rainbow blocks, and the 12'' blocks be a single color (or a variety of shades of a single color).

I usually don't plan color schemes ahead of time, because when I do, I always end up changing my mind midway through. Its almost like I have to experiment and "feel" the colors before I decide if I like it. It is a method that i'm sure would drive some (many) people crazy, but it works for me!As for the blocks I have already made? I have a plan for them too.
