Fantastic Gifts for Quilters: The Fabric

Fantastic Gifts for Quilters 2

Do people ever ask you what you want for the holidays, or your birthday? Go ahead and send them this Fantastic Gifts for Quilters series: the Notionsthe Fabric, and the Books :)

p.s. Did you know you can give a gift subscription to Pattern Drop? A year’s worth of patterns, quilt alongs, and sewing awesomeness. And we are giving away this Checkers Fat Quarter Bundle on the Pattern Drop Instagram @patterndrop from 11/21-11/22. Go check it out!**

THE ULTIMATE GIFT

A wonderful friend sent me one of these Denyse Schmidt Modern Solid boxes, and it was life changing. Ok. Not life changing. But definitely life enhancing.

Fat Quarter Bundles:

This line by Alexia Abegg for Cotton and Steel is based on block prints–it would make amazing bags. And if I post it here, maybe I won’t buy it.

Everyone needs a little Rifle Paper Co fabric in their lives.

Insignia by Alison Glass has the same vibrant colors with a more minimalist pattern. And I love her color + color Sun Print 2017 collection!

Are pre-cuts your style? I’ve always loved the Elizabeth Hartman Kona Roll Up. You could use it to make my Portland Square quilt, and it would be amazing. Just saying. There is also a Fat Quarter Bundle.

Other Favorite Fabrics out there right now:

Floral Retrospective by Anna Maria Horner! I’m almost done with a dress for my daughter in one of the prints.

Blueberry Park 2: I love Karen Lewis’ work!

Cotton and Steel Noel

Coney Island by Fig Tree

Batting: I love having batting on hand, and this Quilters Dream Select Batting is my favorite, unless I want a really warm quilt, and then I use the wool batting.

Quilt Backing: I use 108” wide fabric on almost everything bigger than a baby quilt, these days (you don’t have to piece the back!) I’ve used this print on a few quilts. Highly recommend. I noticed Pink Castle Fabrics also has quite a few in stock.

Some of my favorite local Salt Lake Shops: Thimbles and Threads and Elaine’s Quilt Block

Some of my favorite online shops: Miss Matatabi, I Love Fabric, Drygoods Designs, Modern Domestic, Pink Castle Fabrics, Westwood Acres, and Fabric Bubb.

Happy Quilting!

Some of these are affiliate links–that means I make a small commission if you purchase something from a link. Aka, a little bit of cash for the Christmas lego fund 😉
