My cousin got married last weekend, and it was a beautiful ceremony. I'm so happy for her and her new husband, and making a quilt just seemed to be the right thing to do. They both *love* the great outdoors, camping, hiking, etc., and when I found this out, I decided the Hello Bear fabric line by Bonnie Christine would be just perfect.

The quilt measures ~ 72'' x 77''.Luckily, this fabric is still easy to find. I bought a fat quarter bundle (plus a little extra of some of the prints, and fabric from my stash). I knew I wanted something simple (I didn't want to cut the prints up too small). I cut these at 6'' x 9'', each fat quarter yields 6 rectangles. I used 117 rectangles, 13 across x 9 down.

I cut too many and sold the rest, along with my scraps, on Instagram (@swimbikequiltdestash). Win, win.I used Dream Puff batting, by Quilter's Dream. I really love the extra poof it gives this quilt. I wanted to tie it, but didn't know anyone who lives nearby with quilting frames. I have since found out my sister in law has some. Ha!

I really like the back. A mix of a buttery yellow crosshatch, the deer print from Hello Bear, and an older print from Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt. I bound it in one of the Cotton and Steel Sprinkle prints (it is navy, but looks almost black, which works well with this quilt I think!)And if I ever take photos of a quilt, there is surely to be a baby who wants to test its "cuddle factor." I think this one passed with flying colors!
