Summer Sampler 2020 // Block 1: Trellis

Welcome to Block 1 of the Summer Sampler 2020, bringing you 16 quilt block designs that are easier than they look. Join us for a summer of low-stress sewing! This block-of-the-week program will help you create an amazing quilt that only looks complex! Plus, the designers will give you easy-to-follow instructions and helpful hints every step of the way. 

The first block, Trellis, was designed by Malka Dubrawsky of A Stitch In Dye. Malka is a pro at creating things that look complex, but are easier than they look, and we are so glad she agreed to be a 2020 Designer.

One of the things I’ve been doing with the Paper Chain BOM blocks is photographing and thinking about them in their individual components—don’t you want to make a triangle quilt that looks like this??

Fun fact—I took a wax resist fabric dying class from Malka in 2013. She is a wonderful teacher, if you ever get the chance to take an in person class. More about the class here.
