Guest Expert #10: Yvonne Fuchs and Quilt Basting Tips

This week's expert tips come from Yvonne Fuchs from Quilting Jetgirl.

I don't know about you, but most quilters have a part of the process where they get stuck.

For years, I quilted my own quilts--even the quilts for my book, Vintage Quilt Revival. But I usually stalled at basting them. Now, I send quite a few to be long armed [something about paying a babysitter when i had a not-so-calm toddler so I could quilt and then realized I could just pay someone to quilt them].

Get to know Yvonne in her own words, and check out her awesome monthly newsletter.

"I am a former aerospace engineer turned modern quilter, designer, and technical editor. My style bridges my technical background and love of saturated color, specializing in transparency color play, intermediate to advanced curved piecing, and bold, geometric designs. I seek to help you become excited about every step of the quilting process. To make quilts that you are proud of. Thanks for joining me. I can’t wait to see the quilts you are going to create."

Summer Sampler 2019 ‘s theme was Piecing Bootcamp--Yvonne designed this really cool transparency block, called Sparkler.
