Peacock Patchwork // Works in Progress

I made it home from Quilt Market and have spent a lot of hours playing with the kids, cleaning up my house, hosting a going away party for friends (I seem to do a lot of that--people, stop moving away!), running, and avoiding my suitcases. Two days later, and I haven't cleaned a single thing out. I still have a Little Apples tattoo on my hand which doesn't seem to want to come off. I brought one back for my son, and I think he has peeked into my suitcase at least 7 times looking for it. I'll tackle the suitcase tomorrow, I think.I did have some free time today and I chose to work on a quilt I have been neglecting for a few months.  In February I participated in a charity auction for my friend, Jenny Reeder, and our mutual friend Janiece had the winning bid. It has been a few months, and she has been really nice about it (she even sent me some great fabric to include). I'm making a simple patchwork quilt, using Kona khaki (I think), Amy Butler's Daisy Chain, a bit of Midwest Modern and Heather Bailey Freshcut, with some of Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow and a few random dots. We'll see how quickly I can send this to Janiece, right in time for summer. :)Question: What is a good lap-size quilt? I want to make something big enough that it is useful, but something small enough that I can quilt it myself without going crazy...Linked up to QuiltStory and WIP Wednesday
