Friendship Stars // Finished Modern Quilt
This quilt has been in process since December--it was so nice to get the top pieced, quilted, and sew on the dark blue binding (which really frames the quilt nicely, but isn't shown here) while in California. It is a present for my parents, and was supposed to be a Christmas present. So, I'm either 7 months late or 5 months early! I know this isn't very kosher, but my mom offered to hand sew the binding on, and I took her up on it. Thanks, mom. :)Block: Friendship Star (I used the same block in this mini-quilt)Fabric: Charisma by Chez Moi and Kona snow (which we drove 40 minutes to purchase so I could finish the quilt. I was just shy. Can you believe that 15 fabric stores didn't have it? Can you believe there are 15 within a half hour or so of my parents' house?)Block size: 11 inches (finished) with 3 inch sashing (finished)Quilted: By me! on a long arm!We are finally home, after travelling all day. I sat by very kind men who ignored my children when they were getting whiny and told them stories when they needed it. What a relief! It is always bittersweet--so happy to be home, so sad that my family lives on the other side of the country (or rather, we live on the other side of the country from them)
