Today I wanted to share a quilt from my family, which lives in my Grandmother's Antique Room. She has a number of antique quilts that rotate living on the beautiful bed.

This particular quilt is a Lemoyne star pattern, and was made by my maternal great-great grandmother, Diantha Christiana Thomson. Her parents emigrated from Denmark sometime before she was born in the Utah Territories (in the tiny town of Ephraim) in 1860. She married Joseph Emmanuel Anderson, and had ten (!) children. She died in 1923, and as I understand it, made a number of quilts. I can see I need to ask my grandmother more about her.Diantha Christina Thompson AndersonI got this particular picture from the new Family Search,  an online family history database sponsored by the LDS Church. If you are interested in family history, Family Search has been updated to allow users to upload pictures and stories, which is pretty cool.More on Lemoyne Star QuiltsLemoyne Star Quilt Pinterest Boards here and here Pinterest Board Free Lemoyne Star Quilt pattern by Cindy LubyHow to Draft a Lemoyne Star by Bloomin' WorkshopLemoyne Star by Lynne Goldsworthy from Lily's Quilts Fons and Porter Love of Quilting Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star TutorialAntique Lemoyne Star Quilt on ebayFollow on Bloglovin

Vintage Quilt Pinterest BoardI am looking for quilts that are beautiful, quilts that have great stories, quilts that are funky or fun, quilts that are unique, quilts that were made by your great great grandmother--basically, great vintage quilts.
