Cheery Circles // Finished Modern Quilt

IMG_7651-2.jpg

Three years ago, when I was working on Vintage Quilt Revival, I put together two quick baby quilts to practice my free motion quilting.  One was a plus quilt (love those!), and this crazy quilt was the second one.  I did everything but bind this quilt in California, then stuck it on a shelf when I got home.I think this quilt would have benefited from less busy fabric, more solids, and/or a different color for the little corner snowballs. But, its soft and snuggly and happy, and that is important too.

I do love the back of the quilt with the single X and pretty blue fabric.Heather has organized another great year of 100 Quilts for Kids, and I wanted to participate. I have had very little free time this summer, with house renovations, moving in, unpacking, chasing after kids, etc. I pulled this out a few weeks ago and am happy to finish it and donate it to a local NICU.The quilt drive ends on Sunday (October 4)! If you have something you can donate, there is still time to be part of this year's quilt drive.Happy sewing.Vintage Quilt Revival: 22 Modern Designs from Classic Blocks
