Summer Sampler 2016 // Week 14 [Piccolo Park]
Piccolo Park Summer Sampler Block
This week's block is called Piccolo Park, which is the name of a little park in Portland that my kids loved to play at. I designed the block late one night, months ago, using graph paper, and after multiple iterations, I really love the look of it! Note: This is not one to sew when you are tired, learn from my mistakes ;)
This is block #14 for the Summer Sampler 2016 quilt along. If you follow the pattern exactly, then your block will look like the one above.This block is made of 4 components: 4 corner squares; 1 center square; 4 hourglass units, and 8 flying geese units. In my block, I dropped out some of the outer pieces on the flying geese, instead of sewing white on white.

This block contains the same building blocks as last week's block, Diamond Ladder--hourglass units and flying geese. I played around a little with this block--there are lots of fun options for fabric placement, and here are just a few I came up with. Each week, sewists who are quilting along come up with a brilliant hack, so I can't wait to see your blocks!
