Princess Cut Star // Block #8 // Summer Sampler 2017

Welcome to week 8 of the Summer Sampler. I'm starting to love these little 6'' blocks, even if it still feels a little weird to sew with such small pieces.  On the plus side, it works great for sneaking small pieces of favorite fabrics into these blocks.

This is Princess Cut Star, designed by Lee Heinrich of Freshly Pieced (@lee.a.heinrich on Instagram). I love the possibilities in this block--my fabric placement is a little different than the mockup, and that is entirely due to trying to keep a 2 year old happy while sewing this block! Can I claim design choice? I never sew with the baby around, and now I remember why.

I would love to see this block with a white center, and the inside white space as a dark solid or bold print!Can you believe this block marks (almost) half way? Happy sewing!
