Fantastic Gifts For QuiltersDo people ever ask you what you want for the holidays, or your birthday? Go ahead and send them this Fantastic Gifts for Quilters series: the Notionsthe Fabric, and the Books :)p.s. Did you know you can give a gift subscription to Pattern Drop? A year’s worth of patterns, quilt alongs, and sewing awesomeness. The books are maybe my favorite part of it all! Here are a few I have, or have bought for friends and family members.Walk by Jacquie Gering--she has some incredible designs and step by step directions + tips for machine quilting with a walking foot.Improv Paper Piecing, by Amy Friend, is the most unique (in a great way) of all of the books I have seen this year. Improv + paper piecing? Mind blown. I'm a fan of her other book, Intentional Piecing, too.I'm obviously a fan of books with lots of blocks--The Quilt Block Cookbook is a beautiful one [by Amy Gibson].This is my mother-in-law's favorite book--I loved flipping through it last week. I think I need some chicken blocks in my life!I bought this book by Edyta Sitar for my mother in law for her birthday, and it is stunning. The blue and white vintage quilt collection alone is worth buying it!I love the concept of this book by Rebecca Bryan--some really cool triangle configurations! There is a reason this quilting book is still in print! [Amazon told me I purchased it in 2012]. It is definitely a go to in my library!Unique patterns, beautiful photography! I love this book by Nancy Purvis.Confession. I haven't peeked inside this book by Kristi Shroeder, but with a cover like that, I sure want to!While we are talking quilt covers and book titles, this one is an all time great. I have made the quilt on the cover, and it is one of my very favorite quilts, ever!I've made a few of the projects in this book--it is fantastic! So many different types of small projects, with really fun paper pieced objects, too.I love the way Lu Summers talks about improv piecing--a definite library addition, if you don't have a copy. For sewing friends who aren't necessarily quilters, I love this book by Anna Graham. For crafty friends who aren't necessarily quilters, I love Krista Fleckenstein's book. She just rebranded her shop, too, and you will love it!p.s. I have 3 Vintage Quilt Revival copies on sale, too!The Summer Sampler 2016 and 2017 make a great gift, I hear ;)What are your favorite books!!!???Pattern Shops you might like:Freshly PiecedFresh Lemons QuiltsModern HandcraftThread House UKAmys Creative SideQuilt.TheoryQuilting JetgirlPen and Paper Patterns
