The IG Quilt Fest--A Celebration of Makers

Are you familiar with the IG Quilt Fest, hosted by Amy Ellis of Amy's Creative Side? Amy used to host the Blogger's Quilt Festival, which coincided with Quilt Market.  During the BQF, quilters wrote blog posts, shared pictures and stories of quilts, and then participated in a linky party where they could add a link to Amy's website, so many people could see their post! The #igquiltfest is a bit different--anyone can participate, and it is a great way not only to share a little about yourself and your work, but also to find new friends, learn quilting tips, and enjoy the community that is Instagram!

The IG Quilt Fest is simple--post a picture to Instagram and use the hashtag!  If your profile is public and you use the hashtag #igquiltfest in your caption or the comments, then other people will be able to see your posts! The IG Quilt Fest has a prompt for every day of the month of March--it isn't too late to participate, even though March is half over.note: This is me at QuiltCon last month--the quilt in the photo behind me was made by Whole Circle Studio and the shirt is from Put A Quilt On ItThe prompts range from "Fast Finish" to "Introduce Yourself" to "Best Tip." I've learned a lot about fellow quilters, enjoyed their quilting styles, and it was really nice to see a picture of everyone's face on March 1! Too often, we shy away from the camera, I think. One of the best parts--there are prizes every day! All you have to do is follow @amyscreativeside and the sponsor of the day. Note: Pattern Drop is sponsoring on March 28, where the prompt is bindings!Read more about the IG Quilt Fest here! And it isn't too late to start participating
