Finished Improv Pouch from Summer Sampler 2019 Scrap

I loved making my Curious Crossing block for the Summer Sampler 2019 so much! Something about improv with a bit of structure that is just so much fun.

I had a significant amount of scraps leftover after making my block, and didn't want it to go to waste! So I cut the scraps into triangles, and then sewed the triangles together.I added some essex linen scraps I had in my scrap bin, found a zipper, and added some fusible batting for a little bit of structure. 

I just love how it turned out! Simple to make, packs a visual punch, and used up some scraps I loved. Win, Win, Win.

I'm happy to report that this pouch has held my 4 year old's markers all summer long, has been on numerous road trips through various states, and is none the worse for the wear. This is the original block--fun!
