Summer Sampler 2017 // Finished Modern Quilts

Yesterday, I announced the Summer Sampler 2018 Quilt Along here. And then when I went to link to the finished 2017 Summer Sampler Quilt, I realized I had never included it on my blog.Tada! Here is the finished Summer Sampler 2017 Quilt!Want to make your own? The pattern is available here.

This is one of my favorite blocks--the Rosetta Star block, designed by Lee. I used my Anna Maria Horner stash, mostly older lines, and paired with just a few solids. I used Moda Bella Gray (which usually reads on the tan side) for the tiny stars and flying geese, to tone down the riotous color!

Then, I decided maybe it needed to be punched back up, so I used a few different black prints and black binding! I would say it is a very colorful quilt. Happily, I used wool batting on this quilt, and a simple stipple, and it has such a great texture and loft
