Have you ever heard about the 100 Day Project?

The 100 Day Project is "a free, global art project that anyone can participate in."

 You can read more here!

Officially, the 100 day project starts today [April 3]. But I had to order fabric, so I'm starting Monday. ;)

This year, I'm joining in, and making 100 half square triangle pairs using a mega Kona Charm pack and a single additional fabric,  and would love to have you do the same! And keep reading, because I talk more about why I'm doing it, projects I've admire, etc.

More about why I'm doing the 100 Day Project

For the last few years, I've watched a few makers I admire participate in and finish the 100 Day Project, to pretty stunning results, including the following:

Miriam Tribe // 100 Days of of Paper Mosaics

Amy Ellis // 100 Days of Quilt Improv

Elise Joy // 100 Days of Elise Pep Talks

I decided this is the year I participate. And, I would love to have you join me.

I admire the intensely beautiful projects, and I know I am not going to thrive doing something like that this year.So I'm thinking small, but mighty. 100 Days of Kona Color // #100daysofkonacolorLots of the quilts I make are bright colors with a white background. Part of the reason for this is that I love quilts that look like that. They also photograph well, and lots of the quilts I make these days need to photograph well.

I'm in a bit of a color rut, and a creative rut in general, and want to switch it up. This is where the 100 Day Project comes in.

My goal is to make 2 half square triangle pairs each day.

That is sewing two 5'' squares together, cutting them apart, pressing them, and trimming if necessary.

I'm hoping if I'm only sewing 2 straight lines, trimming will be kept at a minimum.
If you want to join in, its simple.Purchase a 101 Kona Colors Charm Pack, available in 3 color ways: Pastels, Dusty, and Brights. I'm going with Dusty.

Purchase or dig in your stash for a single fabric to pair with the Kona Charm Pack.
