Mt. Olympus PDF Quilt Pattern: Aqua Solids
The Mt. Olympus Quilt pattern includes instructions to make two sizes of quilts: 56’’ x 56’’ and 84’’ x 84’’. I used a now out of print Lizzy House Fat Quarter Bundle (Constellations) for another version of this quilt.
For this version, I used a variety of aqua scraps and prints—some of them were pieced—for added visual interest (and perhaps because I didn’t have a lot of large pieces).
This pattern lends itself to a variety of quilting motifs—I quilted this teal quilt really sparsely, just in the white lines—it is backed in a beautiful voile and this helped keep it super soft. The blue Constellations quilt was quilted by Abby Latimer on a long arm, and has a simple, boxy, all over pattern.
I think that makes it really fun that I made both lap size quilts for my niece and nephew, and think it would be such a fun rainbow quilt, or black and white quilt, or to use with a favorite fat quarter bundle.
This quilt lends itself really well to a number of different quilting motifs—I had this quilt long armed with a rectangle in rectangle motif, but curvy all over quilting, or a crosshatch, would be especially great with this quilt pattern!
This quilt is perfect for a beginner, or someone who has made a million quilts in the past. Happy sewing.
