Summer-Sampler-Block-2-Shenzhen.jpg

This is the 2nd block in the Summer Sampler 2018, Shenzhen, designed by Angela Pingel.

Make sure to check out her blog post for more about the block and her inspiration.Just a reminder, you can sign up for this quilt along at any time.

When you sign up after the start date, you will get all the patterns that we’ve release to-date.

You can catch up on past blocks on your own schedule and continue quilting along with the group as we release weekly block patterns.I lucked out this week--the colors in the Rainbow mockup are also the colors of the quilt I am finishing up.

When making my Greek Cross quilt, I had cut too many pieces, so I just picked from the already cut pieces, trimmed the pieces to the right size, and started sewing. When does that ever happen!?

This block is fun to sew--just make sure to pay attention. Its easy to get the pieces mixed up!  I used a smaller design board to keep the pieces straight this week [I talked about making a quick, larger, portable design board last week]

If I was doing this block over again, I would have pressed my seams to the side so that they nested! But that's my other piece of advice for this week.

Love seeing the map fit up with stars!

And one last photo, for those of you who like #honestcraftroom photos ;)
