A few weeks ago, it started to snow… and kept snowing. I haven’t sewn anything just for fun for what seems like forever. I knew I had this great pink cardinal print, and then remembered that I had a bit of this Charley Harper cardinal fabric as well. Score! I love my new Braddock Road Winter Quilt. We *always* had cardinals in our yard in Virginia, and they are full of nostalgia for me. Plus, how cute are these prints??

Braddock Road Quilt Pattern

I used an old Cotton and Steel white on white print which if you look closely enough, almost looks like snow. My quilt holder is growing up—his school was on a virtual learning break, so he happily came on a hike in the snow to hold up a quilt.

This quilt is simple to piece, works well with prints and/or solids, and is great for a holiday quilt. I made a winter quilt, that can be kept out after the holidays, and it would work well for Christmas or Hanukkah, too!

The quilt measures 68" x 76", and this 8 page pattern has clear instructions, full color illustrations, and coloring pages to help plan your quilt.

The original quilt was made in all solids, and it lives on my couch in the basement. Its the perfect couch quilt size! The quilting is a fun square in square, all over design. The cardinal version is waiting to be quilted right now—I think straight lines, a cross hatch, an all over circle or swirl, or a number of other patterns would look great on this quilt!
